Friends with Benefits.....have you ever been in this position before?

Mix ´n Match
Alexander Wang FW 2011

I know this is old news, you´ve already seen this, but I just wanted to point out the way he mixed the silk with angora in certain pieces. Everytime I see a picture of this show, I find the idea brilliant. Cause the fabrics are the opposite of eachother; structure and function. Just LOVE it!

Cultwork
presents
Valentino Rossi

Cultwork launches an art collection of the most succesful motorcycle racer of all time Valentino Rossi. The Polish artist Patryk Kuleta made these paintings to dedicate that Rossi joined the Ducati Team and his return to a Italian motorcycle since 1999. I find the paintings beautiful, especially the one above. Bright colors combined with black as base color. I would love a painting like that. So if you are interested in buying one, go to www.ducatiart.com

I quote you...

- Making your mark on the world is hard. If it were easy, everybody would do it.
But it's not. It takes patience, it takes commitment, and it comes with plenty of failure along the way.
The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won't. it's whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction,
or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere. -

R.I.P. Amy Winehouse
14 September 1983 – 23 July 2011

I have always been a huge fan, since her first debut album called Frank. That voice is so amazing and I have played her cd's over and over again. Unfortunetly there are no more songs to come. I hope you finally have found some peace for yourself, but know that your voice will never been forgotten.

The Russian IT-girl
Miroslava Duma

I adore her style! Miroslava Duma was an editor at the Russian Harper's Bazaar, but now as a freelance writer for different magazines like OK Magazine, Tattler and Glamour. Just to name some great fashion magazines. Her style is refreshing, clean and always right. INSPIRATION!

Arc House
by
Maziar Behrooz Architecture

This East Hampton based house, build by Maziar Behrooz Architecture, bought by a couple and their dog. The house is build half in a hill, so you wouldn't guess this house is actually 360 square meter. The architect separated the private parts of the house from the more social ones. The lower level houses an office, a sitting room, a garage and a gym. Behrooz also created two large openings on the two opposite sides of the curve, overlooking the landscaped garden and surrounding nature as well as offering views through to different parts of the house.

We keep on Rockin' it

I just still love the whole Rock n´Roll look. It´s edgy, daring, raw, still feminine ( in my case ) and you can glam it up anytime. And this fall we'll continue lookin' GREAT!

Club Brillant
presents
Fool's Gold by Dennis Diem
featuring
Italia Independent Eyewear

As you all know, I'm not a really big fan of the Amsterdam International Fashion Week. So this year, there was an overlap between AIFW and Modefabriek. So I decided to see some shows and visit Modefabriek on 1 day. The AIFW closed it with the Brillant show and I honestly have to say, that I was a bit impressed, because, normally in my opinion, the clothes are not that great as in on a high level, compared to the big Fashion Weeks. So I was suprised and in a good way!

The show was divided in 2 settings. First the men came on, lights all dimmed, heads painted black, wearing glow in the dark glasses and nothing but a swimshort. The women on the other hand were dressed in the creations of Dennis Diem. Gold coloured outfits combined with black stockings, fur dresses, corsets, jackets accesorized in jewelry, but the best thing I saw on the runway, were the SHOES! Wow and nobody fell! pffff So props to the models for walking gracefully down the runway :-)

Life on Neptunes
Pharrell Willams x W Magazine

The view from Pharrell Williams’s penthouse makes an unequivocal statement: “I am monarch of all I survey.” Topped by a frosted-glass dome, the empyrean apartment floats 40 stories above Miami. A gargantuan great room rises the full three levels of the space, which pivots around a white spiral staircase. Bold contemporary art lines the walls, and sybaritic delights—an outdoor pool overhung with an improbable vine-covered trellis, a supersize purple crocodile Hermès bag—can be found at every turn. But the coups de théâtre are the massive window walls, which provide a breathtaking panorama over the city, across Biscayne Bay and Miami Beach, and out to the Atlantic. “Living your life 40 floors up, looking out every day on ocean and skies, you see the world from a different point of view,” Williams says. “It’s like living in a very interesting fishbowl, but since no one can see up here, it’s like a fishbowl with a limo tint.”
